studing

I am currently in an exam week at uni. That is why I haven’t been uploading much reviews lately. But I want to share some of my tips of how I prepare for an exam.

To be honest I am not the perfect student that starts studying 2 weeks in advance. I am more the type that does everything last minute. So last minute I don’t have the time to read the entire book or look at all the PowerPoint slides the teacher made. So I made up a system that helps me prepare without having to give up much of my free time.

To start of I do not really pay attention in class. I know that sounds really bad but it is something that I have been doing even in high school. I don’t do nothing. I make my own summaries during class time. For me, some of my teachers put their slides online before class and then I just summarize those. Since most of the questions on the exam are from the slides.

If they don’t put their slides online I just summarize the book during class time. This way I don’t have to do it afterwards. By doing it myself I immediately  learn the information at the same time. That way I just have to read my own summaries a few times and I should be able to pass the exam.

Something that also helps me prepare is YouTube. Especially with harder subject like ICT or logistics. There are so many helpful video’s on that site. Because there is an image showing, it helps me remember. Somehow I remember images better than what the teachers said. So once I make a test and I see a word I recognize and am able to link it with a video, I should be able to answer the question.

As for languages I just practice. Try to find a friend that speaks the language fluently or even try to visit a country that speaks the language your learning. That way you learn even more.

I won’t say this way of studying will guarantee that you will pass the exam. Cause I don’t pass all my exams on the first try. I pass most of them but not all. Everyone has their own way of studying, well this was my way. Hope I could help you, feel free to share you ways of studying.

See you next time,

Leonie
